TheFFBI's Most Wanted: Week 3 Waiver Wire Pick Ups

Running Backs

  1. Andre Brown NYG - Everyone thought that David Wilson would be the main beneficiary of an Ahmad Bradshaw injury, but Tom Coughlin and the Giants went elsewhere.  Brown, a 3rd year RB from NC State, came in for Bradshaw and looked like a more than capable fill in.  Wilson will still get some play, but early word is that Brown will get the start this Thursday and more, depending on the severity of Bradshaw's injuries.
  2. Daryl Richardson StL - Whether you believe that Jackson was injured, or benched for spiking the ball, Richardson got a shot Sunday, and made the best of it.  Richardson is a rookie, drafted in the 7th round from a small college, who is a speed back with some size.  My guess is that Jackson is able to suit up next week, but Richardson is worth a stash in case Jackson goes down, or if Jackson is legitimately hurt.
  3. Mike Goodson Oak - Goodson took one big catch to the house Sunday, something McFadden failed to do.  He isn't start worthy, but he has talent and is worth a stash in case McFadden goes down.

Wide Receivers

  1. Danny Amendola StL - Ok, so maybe I was wrong about Amendola just being a safe PPR guy,  Sunday may have been his best game all year, but he showed he is a big part of this offense.
  2. Andrew Hawkins Cin - Last week, I wrote about how Hawkins was a play maker capable of taking it to the house.  On Sunday, he took it to the house.  He only received 2 catches, but I really like this guy's talent.  If i were the Bengals coaching staff I would be coming up with ways to get the ball to him in space, and would even give him plays out of the backfield.
  3. Donnie Avery Ind - I've always liked Avery.  He is a burner with good hands, but he could never stay healthy when he played in St. Louis.  He can put up big numbers with Luck, if this is the year he stays healthy.
  4. Brian Hartline Mia - Ryan Tannehill didn't look as totally inept as I thought he was, when he played the Raiders.  Hartline is one of the only proven receivers on the Dolphin's roster, and Tannehill has the arm strength to take advantage of Hartline's speed.
  5. Jacoby Jones Bal - Jones, a 6th year veteran, looks to be at least as involved in the offense as Torrey Smith.  Jones has always been known for his speed, and Flacco throws deep more than any other QB in the NFL.  Jones is a decent pick up to stash and see if he can emerge as a consistent option.
  6. Brandon Gibson StL - Gibson recorded his second straight game with 50 yards and a TD.   I like his upside, and he is at worst a good bye week fill in option.

Tight Ends

  1. Scott Chandler Buf - Chandler, 6' 7" 260 lbs, is a TD machine.  You can't predict TDs, but he could see his role expand in this offense.  David Nelson, Buffalo's slot WR, is lost for the year.  Chandler could be a good candidate to see targets that would otherwise have gone to Nelson.
  2. Brandon Meyers Oak - Meyers hasn't produced yet, in his 4 years in the NFL, but he is off to a good start in 2012.  He seems to have good chemistry with Carson Palmer, and is the Raider's leading receiver, through 2 games.  I don't know if this will continue, but it is worth monitoring, if you are desperate at TE.

There will always be players that I fail to include on this list.  I don't want to write about the same players every week, and I don't know who is out there in every league.  If you have any questions you can comment below, email me at theFFBI@gmail.com, or ask me questions on twitter @ theFFBI.  I'm more than willing to help any and all who ask.

  2. I don't think he is. The Patriots offense is complicated, and it will be tough for Winslow to come in and pick it up before Hernandez returns. He might have a decent week or two, but I'm fairly certain better TE's are on the waiver.
